A small band with a big sound!

La Orquesta Kalamares is Ireland’s smallest Latin ensemble, but don ́t be fooled by the size of the band; founded in Galway in 2013, the 3-piece combo skilfully brings the sound of a full Latin orchestra to the stage, embracing different styles of Latin music: from Salsa to Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata and more.

La Orquesta Kalamares has been regularly performing in venues and festivals throughout Ireland, including the Irish Salsa Congress, the Ennis Street Festival, the Doonbeg Jazz Festival, The Che Guevara Festival in Kilkee, Newcastle West Art Festival and the Cairde Sligo Arts Festival.

The band’s repertoire combines original songs and Latin arrangements of popular songs from across different genres of music, and in a variety of languages, guaranteed to make everyone dance!
